Before the XIX century, the house was some stables and plots, outside the limits of the old village. When the town required to extended, will be necessary to across the old doors that close the old village (theses existing until the Second Spanish Republic) with new streets, as Caseres Street, on the beginning of XIX century.

Initially Cal Tomàs was two houses, one according with the date of the main stone door was build in 1853, the other will be possible to estimate that was build on the same period probably before 1860, and we know that since a lot of time was a botchery. From this time is the old chimney and you can see it today upping the stairs.

But was form the Spanish Civil War, when the destine of the two houses was decided: the second of September of 1938, on a dark chapter of the Ebro Battle, a bomb from a flight of the national aircraft that search a bomb storage located near to the house, impacted and destroyed. After the war, was rebuild in only new one, and will know from this date on the village as “Ca Benito” (is really usual still now on the little villages of Spain to give a name to the houses and the people that live inside).

The 8th of august 2002, Tomàs bought the house with the idea of reform it as a rural lodging, that he was calling Cal Tomàs.

At this time on the house, a lot of work was still for make, and why the reforms not are never easy, he needs to work hard. He tried to obtain the perfection, as the pharaoh with his pyramid, he restored the house with typical elements of the traditional architecture of the region, adding some others exotics (all the wood was from the huge beams of a church build in the XVIII century, and according with this have it one thousand years old).

Finally, all the energy invested gave a nice fruit and the lodging house open doors on the end of 2004.
